Procedure
The SSW:
Determines that medical treatment has been sought, or directs that it be initiated when a child in OOHC incurs serious physical injury;
Follows guidelines of Child Fatality/Near Child Fatality, and any appropriate regional procedures;
Makes a report if there is reason to suspect that the child’s injury was due to maltreatment and a report has not been made;
Directs all inquiries from the media to the Cabinet’s office of communications.
